A Tribute to Marilyn Monroe
Nobody else will ever be like Norma Jean.
It’s no wonder that Marilyn Monroe won our first Classic Movies Favorite Actress Poll as the favorite classic movie actress of all time. Her supporters and followers are legion, and they are totally devoted to her. Aren’t we all? (Well, except for the Academy, which snubbed her entirely, even when she won a Golden Globe as Best Musical/Comedy Actress for Some Like It Hot in 1959.)
The purpose of this article is not to add more to the volumes of prose and poetry that have already been written about Marilyn. Rather, it is to present you with as large a selection as possible of the Marilyn Monroe resources which exist on the Web at this time. And there are a lot of them.
There are quite a few dedicated Marilyn sites, of course, which do a wonderful job of preserving Marilyn’s memory, and there are links to them in this article. I don’t intend to try and take the place of those efforts. Instead, I’d like to try and simply list as many of the relevant Web links as possible. They’re presented in alphabetical order, except for the official site, which is listed first in Part II.
Part I: Introduction
Part III: Movie Reviews & Where to Find Her Films
Part IV: Books, Photos, Art, and Posters
Part V: Collectibles and Fan Clubs
