Your Favorite Actors and Actresses
Classic Movies Poll Results

After two weeks of voting, the results of the first Classic Movies Poll are in! Here are your favorite actors and actresses of the classic movies era, as determined by your votes. Only one vote per email address was allowed (votes from invalid email addresses were tossed out), and each person could vote for up to three actors and three actresses. Duplicate votes were not counted (and there were a few!).

A note of interest: During the last week of voting, a large number of ballots were received containing one or more votes for Marilyn Monroe. While there is certainly nothing wrong with this, those of you who are fans of other actresses should note that there was no organized campaign for anybody else, which makes the number two spot fairly significant. Look for our Tribute to Marilyn five-page article.

While we are not revealing the total number of votes for any star, please note also that Jimmy Stewart won quite handily, but that the margins separating the last few choices are rather slim. We're only listing the Top 10 in each category, plus those who received more than 2 votes, but be assured that almost every actor and actress who ever lived received at least one vote, including some who did not really qualify under the "first movie before 1975" rule!
