The American Film Institute has completed its 100 Years, 100 Stars presentation, and here are the official results of their poll of experts, in reverse order of finish:
Biggest surprises: Actors - Jimmy Stewart finishing 3rd instead of 1st; John Wayne out of the top ten. Actresses - Greta Garbo finishing 5th; Mae West making the list at all.
Exact or within one spot of the position on the Classic Movies list: Actors - Sidney Poitier, Laurence Olivier, Jimmy Stewart, Cary Grant. Actresses - Judy Garland, Ingrid Bergman, Audrey Hepburn, Katharine Hepburn.
My most accurate prediction: Katharine Hepburn as #1 actress.
My least accurate prediction: That Lucille Ball would be on the list.
My biggest thrill: Bogie is #1!
My biggest disappointment: Barbara Stanwyck not in the top ten.
