This may be a "classic" film site, but that doesn't mean we don't all dream of making movies, whether we're in front of the camera or behind it. If you're doing more than dreaming, here are some sites for you. (Since this is a new list, I welcome suggestions for sites I missed, but unfortunately, I cannot list individual talent agencies, talent search sites, or movie production sites.)

Acting Depot
Fee-based service that promises access to casting directors, talent agents and other industry contacts. Be sure to check out the directory on the home page for lots of free resources, including studio contacts, trade publications, news, and more.

ActorPoint.com
A community for actors of all levels of experience. Offers free monologues, casting call listings, answers to questions, articles, forums, and more.

The Actors Store
This UK site offers lots of helpful advice, links to other sites, and sources for acting books, theatrical and dance supplies, and plays to read.

Assistant Directors.com
Originally started by Lennie Appelquist, an assistant director in Los Angeles, as a resource for AD department, with forms like call sheets, production reports, Exhibit G's etc, the site has become an overall source of movie production resources.

The Association of Independent Video and Filmmakers
An organization for film and videomakers that offers seminars and networking events, trade discounts, group health and production insurance, a resource library, books and directories, a monthly magazine, media advocacy and information services.

Backstage.com
More resources for actors, with information separated geographically (mostly from either the east or west coasts). You can subscribe to the newsletter, post your resume, review the calendar of events, talk to other actors, find out about acting classes, and more.

Entertainment Careers.net
Fee-based listing of entertainment jobs, internships and career information in the entertainment industry. Offers free job postings for employers.

Explore Talent
Acting, modeling, movie auditions, and casting calls for actors and actresses. Free to join.

Film School
Learn how you can get professional training for behind-the-camera jobs in film, TV, radio and music recording. Be sure to check out their list of Resources, as well.

Founded in 1994, filmmaking.net is one of the oldest filmmaking resources on the Internet. The site provides reference and a community for new and independent filmmakers around the world.

Industry Central
Advertising itself as the motion picture and television industry professional's first stop, this site offers a nice list of industry Web sites, a chat room, a writer's exchange (critiques for screenwriters), director interviews, and more.

Now Casting
Web site for the company providing actors services and online casting in Los Angeles. Take advantage of the Now Casting Database, a free online actors database and electronic submissions service, as well as other sources of information for actors looking to enhance their careers.

Screen Actors Guild
Web site for the actors union. If you're serious about acting, joining SAG is an essential step in the process.
