The Dirty Harry Series: Clint Eastwood Collection Has Dirty Harry Fans Feeling Lucky
When the first Dirty Harry film was released in 1971, Clint Eastwood became Public Enemy #1 among those who were concerned about police violence and the right-wing backlash to the civil rights movement. He was The Man With No Name given a badge and gun. Now that Clint has been crowned as an American auteur, it's okay to like Harry, and in fact three of the five films in this collection are superb examples of the genre. Two are less so, but if you're a fan, you'll enjoy them all, plus the two documentaries. Only the first in the series has any extras other than the trailer, though. Warner Home Video has put together a Web site for the occasion: http://dirtyharry.warnerbros.com.
Five-DVD set includes all five Harry Callahan films.
First disc includes two documentaries and an interview gallery.
Widescreen format, Dolby digital sound, closed-captioned.
The bottom Line: A must for Eastwood or Dirty Harry completists.
